When we look out of the window, nothing looks like Xmas. More like Easter I would say. Green grass, no snow. Only shopping centres don’t let us forget. They have been decorated with Christmas trees and gleaming garlands for the last few weeks. And there is “Last Christmas” on the radio all the time. We all hate it but we all sing it! It’s catchy, isn’t it? Well, Christmas is coming soon!
I wonder what associations you have when you think ‘Christmas’. What smells, tastes, sounds come to your minds? For me it’s the smell of a cold fir tree just brought home, and gingerbread cookies which we hang on its branches. It’s the taste of my mom’s beetroot soup with mushrooms, which is never as delicious as on Christmas Eve. It’s the sound of breaking Christmas wafer when we share it, wishing each other all the best. And what comes to your mind when you think of Christmas? What do you like or dislike about this special time? I’m waiting for your comments!

When I hear ‘Christmas’ have many associations, but I will try to mention some important ones.
For me ‘Christmas’ is a time spent with family on conversation, but first you have to help in the preparations, which in my opinion is interesting and typical for ‘Christmas’. As we know, the tradition says that when the first star appears in the sky on ‘Christmas Eve’ , we begin the Christmas dinner, but first we need to break the wafer. I believe that this is the moment when we stop for a moment and think of pence, forgive and forget quarrels and problems, and we have the ability to make a wish. After dinner there is the time for presents, so ‘Christmas’ can remind me of giving and getting gifts. The last of the important associations I have about ‘Christmas’ is the midnight mass. Since I can remember I have always gone to midnight mass because I can’t imagine ‘Christmas Eve’ without the midnight mass. But not everyone has to agree with my opinion 🙂
I’ll never get enough of Christmas stuff on the streets and in the shops. My parents get more money during Christmas so that’s also a very positive thing.
I’m not gonna write about my private problems here for many obvious reasons but it feels like all of these things that I talk about and do with my family during this special evening are just fake so that’s why I’m not sure if I really do like Christmas. I open my gift and go to my bedroom or go out just to sit with my horse which always makes my mood better.
